2021, let's try this again shall we?

We can all agree 2020 was rubbish.

With the pandemic hitting and a lot going on in my personal life, it was very much a rollercoaster of a year. For a lot of people, last year almost felt like a pause on life, so we shouldn't feel pressure to follow the usual 'New year, new me' mantra that usually comes with the start of January.

However, I believe every experience is a lesson. I'd like to think I learnt some things from what I went through and I've grown because of it (even if it's a tiny amount.)

I was forced to shift my perspective on my own creative output. My job as a creative designer had taken up a lot of my drive and none of that drive went into my own projects. After losing my job, I was able to recharge and focus on what I wanted to create. I have been able to develop my own styles and work with mediums I want to work with, I'm even about to attempt embroidery!

I was thrown some freelance work, which gave me opportunities to understand self-employment and the importance of keeping track of earnings. I worked on some really fun projects and cannot wait to show off some of the other things I've been working on soon.

Safe to say I have no idea what this year will bring and I'm not even going to risk making any predictions, just as long as it's better than last year. Stay safe x
